Before you pay, the honest answers
- What happens if the candidate does not give consent?
- We do not start the checks that need it. In notified mode we ask the candidate directly, and if consent has not been received within 48 hours we refund your payment in full. You are never charged for a report we could not lawfully produce.
- What if a record simply cannot be found?
- We say so, plainly, in the report. Indian records are uneven: some district courts are not digitised, some employers will not confirm, some older marriages were never registered. A check we could not complete is marked "not found" or "could not verify", never quietly presented as clean. We do not reduce the fee for an inconclusive check, because the work of looking is the same, but we do tell you exactly where the gaps are.
- How discreet is this? Will the candidate know?
- That depends on the mode you choose. In notified mode we ask the candidate for consent ourselves, so they know a verification is happening and exactly which checks will run. In confidential mode they are not approached, and because of that, the checks that legally require their own consent (Aadhaar, PAN, EPFO, DigiLocker and NAD) cannot run at all, and the report says which checks were out of scope. There is no workaround for that. In either mode the candidate never sees your report, your name in our correspondence with a source, or anything about your family, and there is no surveillance, no following anyone and no contact with their friends, colleagues or neighbours.
- Is this legal?
- Yes. We work only from official and public records, under the consent mode you choose, and we handle personal data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. We do not buy leaked databases, scrape dating apps or use data brokers. If a check would require any of those, we do not offer it.
- Is the price per report or per person?
- Per report, on one candidate. The Family Background Check is the exception: one fee covers the candidate plus immediate family. If you want two candidates verified, that is two reports.
- Are there any other charges?
- No. The price you see is the price you pay, inclusive. Add-ons are optional and priced separately below. There is no subscription on the one-off reports and nothing renews unless you choose monthly monitoring.
